In Which I Freak Out

So, yesterday I saw one of Kiersten White's tweets, and I utterly FREAKED OUT!THEY'RE MAKING PARANORMALCY INTO A MOVIE, PEOPLE! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! AND GUESS WHO'S DIRECTING IT???!!! RAY KAY! THE FAMOUS MUSIC VIDEO DIRECTOR OF (and you may or may not know these people . . . just saying) JUSTIN BIEBER -- not that he counts at all, or anything -- LADY GAGA, BRITNEY SPEARS AND A FEW OTHERS! PARANORMALCY IS GOING TO BE HIS FEATURE FILM DEBUT, AND I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now, for some odd, unknown reason, I have to retain seriousness for the rest of the blog. Who came up with that idea? Oh, me. Right. *bangs head against wall.*

Alright, writing not going so well. School shopping, running back and forth, transferring schools . . . again, constantly cleaning, and now this blog post (darn you people!) has left me with little if no time to write. However, this year I am taking a novels and publication class first semester, and I can't even begin to describe how ecstatic and impatient I am for school to start next Wednesday. (Thanks, Mrs. Staheli!) That's about it as far as writing progression is going, and, sadly, no excerpt today. Sorry? . . .Well, at lest I'm about 1/3 of the way done with the first draft! Woot, woot!

Now, book plug.

I am currently reading the second in the Paranormalcy trilogy. Awesome, awesome, awesome, book. Kiersten White, you're a genius! Hence the freaking out in the first paragraph over the movie adaption. That screenwriter had better do a pretty darn good job or he can say adios to my thus far guaranteed attendance.   It's fun, scary, suspenseful, entertaining and totally and completely ADDICTING.

Written by the lovely Kiersten White:

Here's a synopsis, strait from Kiersten White's blog, which you can check out here.

PARANORMALCY Trilogy

New York Times bestsellers Paranormalcy and Supernaturally are available in stores everywhere! The third book in the trilogy, Endlessly, will be out in 2012.

Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.
(That was for the first book,  but of course when one is introducing a series to another, it's usually good not to start with the second book. =))
Paranormalcy was an instant New York Times bestseller and received rave reviews for its perfect blend of humor and suspense. In a starred review, Publishers Weekly described it as “an absorbing romance, which comes closer than most to hitting the Buffy mark,” and bestselling author Lisa McMann called it “the most refreshing paranormal debut of the year.” In addition, Kiersten White was chosen as a 2010 Publishers Weekly Flying Start.

Supernaturally’s spot-on teen voice, dynamite characters, and heartpounding climax will have readers breathlessly awaiting the third and final installment in the trilogy.

“With its ghoul-fighting heroine rocking peep-toe heels, Supernaturally is the perfect mix of kick-butt and kawaii (super cute). It’s a pink frosted cupcake with a firecracker on top. A delicious, dangerous treat!” --Kirsten Miller, New York Times bestselling author of The Eternal Ones and Kiki Strike

“Evie’s voice is the best part of the story, as she balances her supernatural abilities against typical teen concerns and obsessions. A tasty bonbon for those who like their romance mixed with supernatural adventures.” (Kirkus Reviews)
“A fast, flirty roller coaster of a ride. This story was everything I hoped for—sassy, light-hearted and downright scary. Oh, bleep! I’m in love!” (Becca Fitzpatrick, New York Times bestselling author of Hush, Hush)

Plus, guys, the author is just plain HILARIUS! As is A LOT of her writing. You can follow her on twitter (If you have one, that is; but who doesn't anymore?) by going here.
And, of course, I can't end a blog post without a random/amazing song, so here it is! By the way, this is one of the most addicting songs EVER, so beware. At least it was for me. I don't know, maybe your reaction will be contradictory to mine, wich was nothing but freaking out.
Well, that's all for today, everyone!
Later!
~Jared

  1. Sounds pretty cool. The books, I mean. The song was kind of weird.

I see you're almost 1/3 of the way through your book. Keep it up!
